Consul and MkI.

MkII and MkIII.

MkIV and the New Zealand Traffic Police 1970.
The classic Ford Zephyr, Zodiac and Consul.
Ford began mass production of the Consul in January 1951 and continued until 1956.
The Zephyr Zodiac (or Zodiac MkI) was launched at the London Motor Show in Autumn 1953. It was mass produced between 1954 and 1956 in the United Kingdom.
In 1956 the Zephyr, Zodiac and Consul were all restyled. The new MkII Zodiac was slightly altered to distinguish it from the lesser variants, having more elaborate tail-end styling and different grille at the front.
Production in New Zealand, Australia and the UK ran from 1956 to 1962.
In April 1962 Ford replaced the Consul/Zodiac range with a dramatically restyle MkIII.
The last of the line; the MkIV range was launched in early 1966. Production continued until 1972.
These were the cars driven by the New Zealand Traffic Police of the day.
